Episode 5 – Game and Movie sites for parents

This week we talk about some game and movie resources for parents that give in-depth reviews and ratings of content. Much better than the minimal (and usually inaccurate) info that the MPAA, RIAA, and ESRB give.

We didn’t discuss This Film Is Not Yet Rated in the episode, but we watched it recently, and highly recommend it- especially as a parent. It will greatly open your eyes to the shortcomings of the MPAA film ratings process!!

Items Covered include:

Episode 004 – Revving up for the holidays

This week we talk about starting to prepare for the Holidays. The difficulties of coordinating presents with extended, and out of state family (and ex-spouses).

Notes:

Holiday Delay

Well, the Holiday wasn’t delayed – as it has already past – but it sure put a cramp in our scheduling and delayed podcast production. So, we missed putting out an episode last week. We are working on the next ep, and will have it out just as soon as we can.

For the Americans out there, we hope you and your family had a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving. For everybody else, we hope that you and your family had a warm and wonderful almost-the-last-week of November!

Episode 3 – Starting the blender

This week we discuss when is the best time to meet the kids while dating.

We go in depth about our courtship and meeting the kids for the first time. It was a very tumultuous time that included two near death illnesses and a fast forward button on our relationship.

No news this week since the main topic goes so long, but we do play a piece of audio feedback from Doug at Geek Acres.

Episode 2

It sounds like we have the audio evened out now. There are still some weird digital glitches that pop here and there which I’m hunting down. It’s either something funny going on with my Macbook USB audio, or the PodXT. Next week we’ll record to a different machine running Linux and see if it goes away. Perhaps this can be my excuse to buy Leopard 🙂

This week we discuss:

  • How Halloween went
  • T’s Gir costume
  • City of Heroes
  • Chooch’s cross country trip to visit his son for his birthday
  • and mixing into the blender with their extended family

Promo this week is for the Crescent Station finale event on in Second Life.

Halloween 2007

We built this Gir costume (a character from the Invader Zim cartoon) over the past few days for our tween to wear on Halloween. We found some plans to make it by KRYPTONIGHTENGALE on the GhostDroppings.com forums.

It was a big hit in the neighborhood and T was very proud to wear it. Unfortunately its hard to see the ears in these pictures, and I forgot to get one of the tail.

I think we’re technically early this week. Makes up for being late last week :o)

Episode 0 – Quantum I Tell Ya!

I am proud to bring you the debut episode of Into The Blender!

As a true tribute to the rigors and time constraints of a blended family (well ok, any family) this release is later than we wanted, but now we are on the map and ready to roll!

This episode is a quick introduction of ourselves, and some of the things we hope to explore with this podcast as a whole.

As stated in the episode, you can comment on each episode right here and send feedback, topic ideas, or comments to feedback@intotheblender.com

Almost there

The site has come together. The feed is active. The pre-production is mostly complete. Now we just need to get the time to actually record and we’ll be all set!

This was a rough weekend with lots to do. Perhaps we can squeeze in some time one night this week to record. In my head I figured we would release new episodes Wednesday or Thursday so Ep 0 still has a chance to live this week 🙂
